LEADING EDGE RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS IN THE FIELD OF SPINAL CORD INJURY REPRESENTED ON AASP WEBSITE

Researchers at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis have accelerated the search for effective treatments for spinal cord injury (SCI). The Miami project is currently the world's largest comprehensive spinal cord injury (SCI) research center. The Miami Project has brought together exceptional researchers, clinicians, and therapists who are all experts in spinal cord injury and whose full-time focus is SCI research. The current Director of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis is Barth Green, M.D., a member of the AASP Academy Council.

The AASP will continue to obtain a wealth of information from the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis concerning current advances in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of spinal cord injured patients. Pertinent information will be used to update AASP Physician Continuing Education Programs and areas of the AASP online Public Information Center (PIC) under categories such as Spinal Conditions, Advances in Spinecare and New Technology in Spinecare.
