Consulting on Human Performance Testing at the Marine Military Academy
 Select members of the
American Academy of Spine Physicians were asked to serve as consultants to the Marine Military Academy. During an extended visit to the Academy this month, the AASP consultants provided direction for the development and implementation of a World Class Human Performance Lab onsite at the Academy. Strategic planning included discussions with Academy leadership about equipment and protocols, to be used to evaluate physical performance in a variety of categories. Areas of emphasis included the development of protocols for neuromuscular evaluation of the spine and lumbopelvic regions.
The AASP members were honored to be of service and will continue functioning as consultants to the Marine Military Academy in the future. Testing at the Marine Military Academy provides a unique opportunity for the consistent accumulation of data and reliable long-term studies on a dedicated population of participants. Ongoing input from members of the AASP Scientific Committee and the AASP Scientific Consultants will be sought during the project.
