Scoliosis
Scoliosis is a common posture disorder that affects about 2-3% of the population. Our centers focus on diagnosing and treating adolescent idiopathic scoliosis using the unique Scoliosis Reduction and Rehabilitation Protocol. Research has shown that this procedure can reduce scoliosis by up to 62% in just 6 weeks. This treatment program lasts for 1-2 years, at a cost of about $4000- $6000. However, most health insurances cover a large portion of the program costs. For those without health insurance, we work with 2 companies, HealthReady and CareCredit, to help you pay as little as $60 a month for treatment. Through this, you or your child can get the treatment they need and deserve.
Dr. Morningstar has recently authored 2 research papers testing the effectiveness of the Scoliosis Reduction and Rehabilitation Protocol. This protocol is currently being used by only a handful of chiropractors around the country. This protocol is composed of traditional spinal manipulation, posture and neuromuscular training, visual field retraining, vibration therapy, traction, head and body weighting, and a complete home exercise program.
If you are concerned that you or your child may have scoliosis, call one of our centers today for a scoliosis x-ray evaluation. This evaluation will determine if you or your child can be successfully treated with this procedure. The following are some simple checks that you can do at home to see if your child needs to be professionally examined:
Look in the mirror: Does your child have a high shoulder, one hip more forward, or a tilted head?
Look at your child's back: Does one shoulder blade stick out farther?
Look at clothing: Are the horizontal stripes on the shirt going diagonally? Do the buttons on a collared shirt always seem to line up incorrectly?
These are some simple at-home methods of scoliosis detection. If any of the above examples are true, please call one of our centers today. Today could be the first step towards better health for you or your loved one!
Keep this in mind. Adults with scoliosis tend to develop chronic spinal pain and have a significantly lower quality of life. Kids with scoliosis find school athletics much more difficult and painful. Don't wait. We can help.
