ARTIFICIAL DISC: AASP MEMBERS ATTEND UPDATE

On March 4th of this year various members of the AASP attended a lecture by Dr. Fred Geisler about the current status of artificial disc use. Indications, results and complications were discussed and were compared to procedures for spine fusion. Members from the AASP received invitations to attend; one was Dr. Stephen Ondra of the AASP Academy Council. He served as one of the discussion leaders. All attending agreed that more such updates would be desirable as this is an interesting area and may well help certain "failed low back" patients.
