Welcome to the American Academy of Spine Physicians
Public Information Access Area
The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) is one of the largest professional organizations of its kind, representing healthcare professionals of various disciplines, who care for patients with spine disorders. The organization is dedicated to improving the delivery of spinecare and providing educational opportunities and resources to patients, professionals and the public. The AASP has worked with the International Spine Association (ISA) to develop an online Public Information Center (PIC) which is managed by the ISA.
Healthcare professionals are encouraged to direct their patients and the public to the PIC at www.spineinformation.org. The public is encouraged to go directly to the website to learn more about the spine, spine disorders and available spinecare. On the website users can print out a script form to give their healthcare provider to complete for the purpose of directing them to pertinent information on the ISA website. By becoming more informed, the public will be better prepared to discuss their unique situation with their attending healthcare provider. We invite you to become a member of the ISA to remain informed about matters related to your spinehealth and spinecare. Membership with the ISA is free although you must sign up.
To find a spine physician or spine specialist (non-physician), who is an active member of the American Academy of Spine Physicians, you can go to the International Directory of Spinecare Professionals, a subdirectory of the International Spine Directory. The directory listings and profiles acknowledge whether the spine physician or spine specialist has achieved advanced credentialed status such as with the American Academy of Spine Physicians as a Diplomate (DAASP), as a Fellow with the American College of Spine Physicians (FACSP) or, for non-physicians, Diplomate with the American Academy of Spine Specialists(DAASS) or Fellow with the American College of Spine Specialists (FACSS). A link to the online directory is also located below. Links to brochures developed for the public are available below.

Welcome to the Inform a Colleague area of the Academy Website. The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) strives to implement new and more efficient methods for members to communicate with other healthcare professionals. One of the most effective tools is the online "Inform a Colleague" function. This function can be used to expand and educate your spinecare referral network. It also represents a resource to conveniently inform others about trends in spinecare and about offers of organizations such as the American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP), the International Spine Association (ISA). The link library also contains an application for membership with the AASP.
The online "Inform a Colleague" feature provides an invaluable time-saving service for keeping spinecare professionalsup-to-date, expanding the spinecare network, stimulating interdisciplinary referrals and for inviting colleagues to join the AASP. The library of links is always being updated with useful information and resources. The linked messages can be used to
