AASP JOINS WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION IN SPINAL DISORDERS CONCERN

The World Health Organization (WHO) notes a concern with global musculoskeletal disorders. Such disorders are reported to be “a large and growing problem in both developing and developed countries.” There is an increase in the disability associated with spinal disorders. The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) has joined the WHO is this concern. The AASP plans to make available to members, the public and others in the healthcare community the most recent listing/classification of these spinal disorders as well as information about peak incidences of same. Such information should help the understanding of these important health problems and, in turn, help spine physicians in treating their patients.
