The American Academy of   Spine Physicians (AASP) contacted key individuals at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically within the Divisions of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) and the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).  The contacts at the NIH were extremely helpful and offered assistance to help facilitate the expansion of the AASP database of information on spinal disorders. The National Institutes of Health invited the AASP to use their frequently updated peer-reviewed information to help provide informative updates on the AASP website. Pertinent information will be continually added to the online Public Information Center (PIC).
