BUCY AWARD GIVEN TO MEMBER OF AASP ACADEMY COUNCIL
On February 4th of 2001 Dr. Edward Benzel of the Academy Council of the American Academy of Spine Physicians received the prestigious Bucy Award. This honor is given each year for outstanding contributions to neurosurgical education. Dr. Benzel is on the faculty of the Cleveland Clinic. The Bucy Award honors the late Paul C. Bucy, MD, a renowned neurosurgeon who taught and practiced at the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois, and the Northwestern University, the later where he spent the majority of his career as Chief of Neurosurgery.
