MEMBERS OF THE AASP TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FREE ONLINE COURSES
An increasing number of members of the
American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) are taking advantage of the two online courses provided as part of the annual membership benefits. The courses are offered at no charge. The AASP currently offers over 70 online continuing education courses. The courses cover a wide variety of topics including sports injuries, pediatric spine disorders, spinal biomechanics, myelopathy and radiculopathy. The courses are classified into one of three primary categories which are; the Textbook Review Courses, Journal Review Courses and Case Study Review Courses. The course work is self study allowing for flexibility. The tests are taken online and are auto-graded. Course credit is awarded to qualified physicians who pass the online test with 80% or better proficiency. Physicians who joined or renewed their membership with the AASP after December 15, 2004 are eligible to obtain 20 CE credits per membership year at no charge as part of their growing list of member benefits.
The online courses are accredited through Logan College of Chiropractic. Continuing education credits obtained through the AASP can be applied towards license renewal requirements in most states. If a credentialing fee is paid, the credits can also be applied towards obtaining Diplomate Status with the American Academy of Spine Physicians (DAASP) and Fellow Status with the American College of Spine Physicians (FACSP).
