During April of this year, the American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) received a record number of neurosurgeons’ applications for membership.  This trend is expected to continue.  The new applicants included pre-eminent neurosurgeons representing over 15 different University settings. The influx of the new neurosurgical members significantly increases the ratio of neurosurgeons to chiropractic physicians within the organization. The AASP will be contacting chiropractic physicians in the geographic region of the new members to inform them of their opportunity to develop a referral network with the neurosurgeon or neurosurgeons who are committed to providing conservative and cooperative spinecare to their patients.
