NATIONAL NEUROSURGEON MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
The
American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) is preparing to launch its first national membership drive to the neurosurgical profession. Plans are in place to reach the majority of the neurosurgeon in the United States during the first three months of 2006. The goal of the campaign is to bring mor4e attention to the many benefits of cooperative spinecare and the benefits of membership with the AASP including matchmaking functions. The current neurosurgical membership in the AASP has primarily been obtained through the direct efforts of chiropractic members and through referrals from neurosurgeons who are members of the AASP. Many of the neurosurgeons, who are currently members of the AASP were contracted by other members through the use of the AASP online interactive matchmaking functions.
During the national effort neurosurgeons throughout the country will be reached through a variety of methods including direct mail, opt in eBlastsand through printed publications. The AASP is also in the process of expanding the features of the "Inform a Colleague" function. Further development of patient educational resources such as the Public Information Center (PIC) will attract additional interest from the neurosurgical community.
